David Detweiler and David Reisch, the editors of Gettysburg: The Story of the Battle with Maps 6/14-27: General George Meade turned the tide of the Civil War at the Battle of Gettysburg, yet has been marginalized in history. Tom Huntington is trying to change that with his book, Searching for George Gordon Meade. Stop by one of Tom's June signings and learn more about Gen. Meade and his fascinating life: 6/19-23: Vietnam veteran and author John Brennan will be signing copies of Vietnam War Helicopter Art, a full-color look at how pilots and crews decorated their aircraft in Vietnam, at the reunion of the Vietnam Helicopter Crew Member Association, which will be held at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel in Herndon, VA. Brennan will sign copies every day for reunion attendees 7/5: Celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in the heart of Gettysburg with author Tom Huntington (Searching for George Gordon Meade, Guide to Gettysburg Battlefield Monuments, and Pennsylvania Civil War Trails) and M. David Detweiler & David Reisch, the editors of Gettysburg: The Story of the Battle with Maps. Tom will be discussing the life of Gen. George Meade, and the events of the battle will be discussed by M. David & David from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the American Civil War Wax Museum in Gettysburg, PA. Please check their website for more information on the event. 7/6: The 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg is this year, and there are plenty of events planned to commemorate it - including a talk and book signing by Tom Huntington, the author of Searching for George Gordon Meade at a Gettysburg Foundation "Sacred Trust" event at 9:30 a.m. at the Gettysburg Visitor's Center in Gettysburg, PA.
