Guide to Gettysburg Battlefield Monuments for iPad, iPhone!
Our apps had previously been based on our books, but this time we switched it up and printed a book based on our app idea. Guide to Gettysburg Battlefield Monuments, started its life as an idea for a way to easily find monuments on the Gettysburg Battlefield. And, since we would be there getting GPS locations, how about taking some pictures? And how about some interesting tid-bits of information to go along with them? Tom Huntington stepped up and walked all over the Battlefield getting locations, pictures, and writing blurbs—we have 858 monuments and tablets listed with photos for each. Then we took that information and categorized it, and cross-categorized it, and double-cross-categorized it so monuments can not only be found by location—but by state, side, if it was infantry, cavalry, artillery, monuments dedicated to individuals, regiments, divisions and brigades . . . . Let's just say there are a lot of ways to find what you are looking for on our app. You can find buy it now at Apple App Store!
Stackpole Books creates Apps
Based on our best-selling titles, expert reference goes mobile for today's readers!
Stackpole Books has mobile apps featuring two of our best-selling books, Waterfowl Identification Guide: The LeMaster Method, and Basic Stained Glass Making.
The Waterfowl Identification: The LeMaster Method mobile app was adapted from the classic reference of the same name, which has been used by wildlife experts to identify waterfowl in the field for over 25 years. It covers 27 North American waterfowl species, helping you make an ID by comparing the bill with a full-size image, or by observing body size and shape.
Once your bird is selected:
This app provides a comprehensive waterfowl ID guide, available whenever you need it—right in the palm of your hand!
The Basic Stained Glass Making app contains in-depth instructional videos demonstrating all the essential skills a beginner needs to get started in stained glass: cutting and preparing glass pieces, working with foil and lead, soldering, and finishing and repairing projects. Also included is complete information on tools and materials, with an in-app checklist of needed items. Glass crafter Michael Johnston bases his hands-on approach in the videos on the successful, time-tested classes taught at Rainbow Vision Stained Glass in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he has taught thousands the craft. With over an hour of instructional video, this app serves as a clear, thorough workshop that you can attend as many times as you want!
The Basic Stained Glass Making mobile app is available in several formats:
