Starting 4/15: Needlework artist Marinda Stewart, author of Easy Elegant Punchneedle, will have some of her beautiful pieces on display at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts in the "In Stitches: Embroidery Needle Arts" exhibit, running April 15 through July 12. The exhibit will also feature crazy quilts, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch artwork, and redwork. An artists' reception will be held May 3rd.
4/20, 7PM: Birding expert and naturalist Sharon Sorenson, author of Birds in the Yard Month by Month, is the featured speaker at the Alexandrian Public Library Friends' Annual Meeting at the Alexandrian Public Library, 115 W. Fifth St., Mount Vernon, IN 47620. She will share a lavishly illustrated program detailing the story of migration--what we know and what we don't--and allow us to follow a single bird on its migratory journey.
4/24-26: See the best of wildfowl carving at the 45th Annual Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival, at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, Ocean City, MD. From highly decorative works of art to functional hunting decoys, about 1200 different wildfowl carvings representing more than 150 species from around the world can be viewed at the most prestigious competition in the world. Enjoy seminars, vendors, the best in wildfowl art, even entertainment for the kids! Our own Wildfowl Carving Magazine will be at the show with specials at the booth.
