Philip St. Geo. Cooke
Biography: Colonel (later Major General) Philip St. George Cooke (1809-1895) was a West Point Class of 1827 graduate and a thirty-year cavalry veteran. Although a Virginian, Cooke remained in federal service during the Civil War, even though his son joined the Confederacy and his daughter was the wife of Confederate General J. E. B. Stuart.
